COMPANY
HISTORY
Proteus was founded in 1999 by two young entrepreneurs: João Mendes de Carvalho and Marcelo Weyne Romcy.
Since its creation, the founders realized that products and policies were necessary tools for the quality of a security deployment, although such tools, working by themselves, could not guarantee the protection level required by the companies and their executives.
With this concept in mind, a new approach was created to provide the necessary services for all those requirements, what today is the key differential of the company services: GSS (Global Security Services).
For its innovation and entrepreneur methods, the company was included in 2002 in Endeavor, a NGO supporting entrepreneurs in emerging countries, with its headquarters in US and activities in Brazil, South Africa, Chile, Colombia Mexico, Turkey and Uruguai. The addition of Proteus on Endeavor's select group of enterpreneurs passed through a criterious selection in the areas of inovation and operation strategy.

Due to its inovation on the creation of new oportunities and business model, the company was awarded at the end of 2002 with the prize of “Enterpreneurs of the New Brazil”. In 2003 and 2006, the company was again awarded with prizes relating to its importance and differentiation on the market.
In 2005, Proteus had its history pictured in two moments on the book “Como fazer uma empresa dar certo em um país incerto” (How to make a company succeed on a not-so-succesful country), which brings advices and lessons from 51 of the most succesfull Brazilian entrepreneurs.
With 10 years of experience, and more than 200 successfully executed project, Proteus continues to innovate through the never-ending search for new and effective solutions, supported by its development and research center located in Fortaleza, Brazil.
